ADD/ADHD

I am certified as a special education teacher. Throughout the years I have worked with students as a consultant special education teacher working directly with students with ADD/ADHD or provided individualized instruction to a students with a blind/visual impairment that also has had a diagnosis if ADD/ADHD. The experiences I have had and the certifications I hold have provided me with the skills necessary to work successfully with students with ADD/ADHD.

Aspergers

I am certified as a special education teacher and teacher of the visually impaired. I have worked with several children over the course of my career that have had a diagnosis of Aspergers. I spent several years working at a school where the majority of the students were diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This experience combined with my teaching experience as special education teacher and teacher of the visually impaired, I have a unique skill set to bring to instruction I provide to children with Asperger's.

autism

I have worked in the field of special education since 1994. I spent 5 summers and two years substituting at a school that specializes in providing instruction to children within the autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). I am familiar with PECS and ABA. Throughout the past 10 years I have typically had at least one student on my caseload with an ASD diagnosis.

Amy was very knowledgeable and patient with my son and myself. She provided us with an assessment and tools to continue this process within the school district. I am more confident with her added knowledge to return to the district to have my son assessed further and get him services.
